The Great British Brands initiative was brought to life to campaign the very best companies which pride themselves on their heritage, high ethical standards, innovative designs and quality products, not just within Britain, but globally. The masterminds behind this publication from Country & Townhouse are Julia Carrick OBE and Lucia van der Post, both of whom are renowned for their contributions to, and knowledge of, the British Luxury Goods sector, having worked with the best of them and moulding the industry into what it is today.

At the beginning of the year, the third issue of Great British Brands was released, the must-have, go-to catalogue of luxury brands from Great Britain, listing all sorts of luxury goods from culture to technology, beauty to fashion, and of course, luggage and bags. We were delighted to be included in the list of 150 companies showcased in this ‘Bible for the British Luxury Industry’ for a second year, giving us the opportunity to tell our story of how the Tusting legacy started and how it has been crafted into the brand that we are known and loved for today, as well as the exciting collaborations and partnerships along the way.Tusting history of the family factory

We pride ourselves in making the finest luxury luggage, based in the Tusting family’s workshop and made from the highest quality leathers, with each piece given the individual care and attention to detail it deserves by skilled workers to become your bag of a lifetime.  Being named in this prestigious editorial alongside names such as Aston Martin, Barbour and Jimmy Choo, you know that Tusting is a name you can trust to offer the best in luxury luggage. With the guarantee of it withstanding the test of time, often we hear of bags being passed on within a family and lasting decades, proving the quality and sentiment in each one. These attributes are exactly what the Great British Brands book is recognising and promoting; authentic products made to last by skilled craftsmen.

The launch of the publication was celebrated at the stunning  Pompadour Ballroom at the Hotel Café Royal  in London, with all the biggest names in the luxury industry in attendance, including our very own siblings-in-law from the Tusting family, William and Gillian Tusting. One of the highlights of the evening was the auction of the beautiful dress worn on the cover of this year’s GBB by Laura Bailey and designed by Alice Temperley in aid of Women For Women International, with the winning bid of £4,000 being donated to the charity. The whole evening showcased companies which are listed in the publication, from the drinks being served to the decorative flower arrangements, proving it is truly great to be British.
